RBI Makes Bold Move; All Bank Branches To Remain Open On Sunday!

The RBI circular states that on Sunday, March 31, 2024, banks are urged to maintain all of their branches that deal with government business open. On Sunday, all agency banks will be accessible to the general public.

The bank has made a significant choice in response to the government’s request. As per the most recent directive from the RBI, all bank branches will continue to be open on Sunday, March 31, 2024. The choice to operate banks on Sundays is made to accommodate transactions associated with the receipts of the Government of India. Following this RBI directive, every bank branch will stay open.

RBI orders all bank branches to open on 31st March

The RBI circular states that on Sunday, March 31, 2024, banks are urged to maintain all of their branches that deal with government business open.” This circular makes it quite evident that banks will serve the public in addition to the government. All of the amenities offered to the general public will function normally on this day. Sunil T. S. Nair, the Chief General Manager of the RBI, has issued this notice.

Every year, March 31st concludes the financial year, prompting the settlement of all government transactions. To facilitate this, NEFT and RTGS transactions continue until midnight on March 31st.
