Rajasthan Budget 2025: 1.25 Lakh Jobs, 150 Units Free Electricity, Major Investments In Infrastructure

The Rajasthan Budget 2025-26, presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari, focuses on job creation, enhanced water supply, and infrastructure development.

Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Finance of Rajasthan Diya Kumari had presented the budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026 in the assembly on Wednesday, in which she promised new job openings, electricity and water supply, and the development of infrastructure in the state.

The minister informed about 1.25 lakh new job vacancies, and the government will install 1000 tube wells and 15 hand pumps under the "Jal Jeewan Mission," and the free electricity cap increased from 100 to 150 units.

The finance minister stated that the government intends to give 5 lakh new residential electrical connections and 5,000 electricity connections specifically for agricultural purposes. In addition, qualified families will receive 150 free units of electricity. Also, solar panels will be placed in the beneficiaries' homes. These projects attempt to promote renewable energy and provide further assistance to farmers.

"Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government has proved the trust that was given by the people by setting new records of development in the state in the first year of its tenure."said the finance minister during the budget session while adding, "Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the gross domestic product (DGP) of the state is estimated to increase to more than Rs 19,89,000 in 2025-26."

"We are committed to building a 350 billion dollar economy by 2030, keeping the pace of development in the state in the same way," she said.

Over 9600 km of new and renovated roads have been completed, resulting in a 40% increase in capital spending in a short period. She has promised that drinking water connections will be provided to around two lakh additional homes. Rs 400 crore will be invested in this effort. The government will also develop nine greenfield expressways costing around Rs 60,000 crore.
