Rajasthan’s Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, unveiled the Budget 2025 in the state assembly on Tuesday. Rajasthan budget 2025 promises a range of initiatives, including Employment Guarantees for the youth, aiming to boost job opportunities. Furthermore, the budget focuses on Water and Electricity Initiatives, likely to improve the state’s infrastructure and services. Moreover, Roadway Development Plans are also in the budget, which will enhance connectivity and transportation within the state.
Notably, this happens to be the second budget of the Rajasthan government under the leadership of Bhajan Lal Sharma. Finance minister Diya Kumari during the budget presentation, said that the government planned to make Rajasthan a $350 billion economy by 2030.
She also said that the government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had set records during its first term, and was slated to have a GSDP of Rs 19,000 crore in 2025-26.
One of the major announcement by the finance minister was that to provide youth with 1.25 lakh government jobs next year.
Rajasthan Budget 2025: Key Takeaways
Employment: 1.25 lakh government jobs will be provided in the state next year. Furthermore, 1.5 lakh private jobs will be created under the Rajasthan Employment Policy 2025.
Water and Energy: 1,000 tube wells and 1,500 hand pumps will be set up in urban areas. Moreover, a surplus of 6,400 megawatts of energy will be produced to power 5 lakh new domestic connections and 50,000 agricultural connections.
Road Infrastructure: 9 Greenfield expressways will be constructed, spanning 2,750 km. Additionally, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana 1,600 settlements will be connected with asphalt roads.
Social Welfare:
- Pension for the elderly, widows, and disabled people will increase to Rs 1,250.
- Women in self-help groups, under the Lakhpati Didi category can now avail loans upto Rs 1 lakh at 1.5% interest.
- 6,000 senior citizens will get flight services and 50,000 will get AC coach train services for pilgrimages.
Agriculture: Farmers will receive Rs 9,000 under the PM Kisan Yojana by next year.
