Patna is hosting the Bihar Business Connect 2024, a prestigious Global Investors Summit. The event is Organized by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar. Moreover, this event aims to showcase Bihar’s industrial transformation, highlighting its potential for investment and growth. The summit saw several major announcements, including plans to set up the state’s first nuclear power project.
Meanwhile, Pranav Adani, Managing Director (Agro, Oil & Gas) and Director of Adani Enterprises, addressed the Bihar Business Connect 2024. He said that the Adani Group is greatly encouraged by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision for the Bihar. Pranav said, “We are the largest private investor in Bihar.”
Pranav said, “In 3 sectors: logistics, gas distribution, and agrilogistics; we have already invested in access of Rs 850 crores, and they have created 25,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.” “We are now going to invest additional Rs 2,300 crore in these sectors. This investment will not only massively increase our warehouse, handling capacity, and expand our presence in EV, CGD space but will also generate 25,000 direct and indirect local job opportunities.”
Bihar Business Connect 2024: What Else Pranav Adani Said?
Pranav said that the Adani Group will invest additional Rs 2,100 crore to install 28 lakh smart meters in the state to automate power consumption monitoring in 5 cities. He announced that these 5 cities are: Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran, and Samastipur. This will generate 4,000 local jobs in this sector.
Pranav said, “we intend to invest Rs 2,500 crores in Bihar to set up cement manufacturing capacity of 10 million metric tons per annum in multiple phases. This has the potential to create about 9,000 direct and indirect jobs for the people of Bihar.”
Furthermore, Pranav said, “Our plan is to invest around Rs 20,000 crores to set up an ultra super-critical thermal power plant. We expect that such a massive project to open up at least 12,000 job vacancies in the pre-commissioned phase and around 1,500 skilled jobs during the operational stage.”
