New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) to the nation today. Prime Minister dedicated 75 digital banking units to the nation through video conferencing at 11 am. DBU is being set up with the objective of taking the benefits of digital banking to every nook and corner of the country.
This scheme will cover all the states and union territories. 11 public sector banks, 12 private sector banks and one small finance bank are participating in this mission.

75 DBUs to be set up in 75 districts
It is noteworthy that in the budget speech for the year 2022-23, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that 75 DBUs would be set up in 75 districts of the country on the completion of 75 years of the country’s independence.
DBU is being set up with the objective of taking the benefits of digital banking to every nook and corner of the country. This scheme will cover all the states and union territories. 11 public sector banks, 12 private sector banks and one small finance bank are participating in this mission.

DBU services will include these facilities
The introduction of DBU Services will include facilities like Saving, Current, RD-FD, Cash Withdrawal, Passbook Printing. Customers will have access to mobile and internet banking, debit cards, credit cards, mass transit system cards, UPI QR codes, BHIM Aadhaar and digital kits for point of sale.
