PM Kisan Yojna: On October 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed the 12th payment to the farmers who had qualified for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi programme. Some qualified farmers, nevertheless, have yet to get their instalment. One of the causes of instalment payments not being received is the beneficiary accounts not being linked to Know-Your-Customer databases (KYC).

The farmers who have yet to receive payment?

The farmers who have not yet received payment might not have updated their Electronic Know Your Customer (EKYC) information. According to the information provided on PM Kisan Yojana’s official website (pmkisan.gov.in), e-KYC is now required under this programme.

If you haven’t received the payment because of an e-KYC issue, don’t worry. You still have the option to get paid if you complete your e-KYC by November 30.

What steps are involved?

If you are a programme beneficiary, you must finish your e-KYC by November 30. OTP-based e-KYC can be completed via the PM Kisan portal or at nearby CSC locations. They offer biometric-based electronic KYC.

How to do E-KYC?

  • Visit the official website of PM Kisan Yojana at pmkisan.gov.in
  • Click on the option of e-KYC on the right side of the website
  • Enter your Aadhar Number
  • Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
  • Then click on ‘Submit’
  • That’s how e-KYC is done
