As five-day Diwali festivities continue, farmers are speculating whether banks will remain open or closed today, October 22. In some parts of the country, banks will observe a holiday on Wednesday due to Diwali Amavasya, Deepawali, and Govardhan Puja. States where banks will be closed on Wednesday are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat (for Vikram Samvant New Year Day, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Rajasthan.

Official Portal Shows Old Information

The farmers keenly await the money on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, but the installment is unlikely to arrive. So far, farmers across Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab have received Rs 2000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana due to recent natural losses. The scheme’s official portal still shows the old information with no recent update.

Complete E-KYC Process Now

The payment is likely to be credited on time if you have already completed e-KYC verification, land verification, and your bank account is DBT-enabled. Farmers can visit the official portal of PM Kisan (pmkisan.gov.in) and complete their e-KYC online using their Aadhaar number and OTP. Alternatively, they can go to nearby CSC centers or banks for verification of biometrics.

Here’s how you can check the ‘PM Kisan 21st Installment’ status:

  • Visit: pmkisan.gov.in
  • Go to ‘Farmers Corner’
  • Click on ‘Beneficiary Status’
  • Enter details such as Aadhaar or registration number
  • You can now check your village list under ‘Beneficiary List’

About The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

The scheme guarantees farmers a minimum annual income of approximately Rs 6,000. This income is disbursed to farmers in three equal installments. E-KYC is MANDATORY for all registered Farmers. For OTP based eKYC, farmers can visit the official PM Kisan portal, while for biometric-based eKYC, they must visit the nearest CSC centers. Farmers can check their eligibility status on the Know Your Status (KYS) of PM KISAN website/ mobile app or Kisan eMitra chatbot for further details.
