Before the beginning of Navratri, the Modi government has given a gift of relief to the citizens of the country. New GST rates are going to be implemented from September 22, due to which many essential items of everyday life will become cheaper. At the same time, another good news is expected for crores of farmers of the country. This good news is related to the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which has been awaited for a long time.
When will the next installment of PM Kisan Yojana come?
There is a lot of discussion among the farmers about when the government will transfer Rs 2000 of the next installment to their accounts. The last installment was released on August 2, 2025, when PM Modi announced the 20th installment of the scheme from Varanasi. At that time an amount of Rs 20,500 crore was transferred to more than 9.71 crore farmers. In Bihar alone, more than 75 lakh farmers got its benefit. Now it is expected that the 21st installment can be sent to the accounts of farmers before Diwali i.e. in the month of October. Looking at the data of previous years, the government has been releasing the installment between August and November – sometimes in August, sometimes in October and sometimes in November.
The 18th installment was released on October 5 in 2024,
on November 15 in 2023,
and on October 17 in 2022.
This year Diwali is on October 20, and it is believed that keeping in mind the festive season, the government can release the next installment around the same. However, no official date has been announced yet.
Announcement may be made before Bihar elections
Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year and the Election Commission can announce the dates by the end of September. The central government can send money to the farmers’ account even before the code of conduct comes into force. Therefore, the possibility becomes strong that the installment money will be released in the first or middle of October.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs 6000 every year to the farmers of the country. This amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers in three installments (Rs 2000-2000). The scheme was launched in February 2019 and so far 20 installments have been issued.
Whose installment can get stuck?
Farmers’ money can get stuck if some necessary formalities are not completed. These include:
Not getting e-KYC done

Therefore, beneficiaries are advised to complete all these processes in time, so that they do not face any problem in the next installment.
