Private Equity investments in Indian real estate have reached the mark of $4.2 billion in the year 2024. This shows a 32% growth , as per reports of Knight Frank India.
Residential real estate has come up as the sector performing at the top, with a 104% growth in Private Equity. In the year 2024, PE investments in the residential sector more than doubled. This showed the rise of investors’ confidence in this particular segment.
The reports pointed to a shift in investors’ focus. It also pointed out the sector preferences, where the warehousing sector is moving ahead of the office sector.
Mumbai which has emerged as the most favoured place for Private Equity investment in 2024. Accounting the 50% of total inflow. Mumbai has attracted $ 2 billion in PE investments. The warehousing sector is dominating at 74% of PE investments which is $1,537 million.
On the other hand, Bengaluru has a total PE investment worth US $ 833 million in 2024. About 52% of the investments was in the office sector while rest 48% are in the residential sector.
NCR has also seen good growth with US $ 202 million directed towards the residential; region. Similarly, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai also got their portion of the investment. This shows the potential of residential real estate market in India.
