Paras Defence has announced an investment of Rs 12,000 crore to construct India’s first Optics Park in Maharashtra. This becomes a historic move towards the technological project.
This announcement came from their end during the World Economic Forum at Davos in Switzerland.
This Optics project will serve as a curing edge technology hub. This project aims to make India a global leader in Optical Technologies across industries like Defence, space, automotive, and others.
This significant achievement is likely to generate more than 2,000 direct jobs, giving opportunities in optics research, development, and manufacturing. The initiative aims to bring innovation across various sectors by creating advanced optical systems for quantum communication, space exploration, anti-drone technology, and sophisticated medical applications.
This project includes modern infrastructure to help various levels of optical technology development. This includes optical assembly, system testing, raw material production, and others.
Key Focus Areas Of The Optics Park:
Advanced Optical Technologies: Creation of innovative technologies like adaptive optics, laser systems, and MEMS-based sensors.
Optical Materials: Exploration of essential materials like Zinc Selenide, Silicon, and Germanium are important for the optical systems, space components, and semiconductor devices.
The government of Maharashtra has committed its full support to the project, giving incentives and streamlining approvals to ensure smooth execution.
