Cyber hackers have become so updated that they withdraw the entire amount from the bank account in just few seconds. In view of few incidents, the Mumbai Police has recently issued an advisory for the people. It has been said that do not click on any message or link given in the message.

Online banking fraud Alert: Person who foiled fraud shared post

Recently, a person who survived of being a victim of cyber thugs has shared a post on social media. In this he has written, ‘Very important #Alert – Bank fraud was attempted with us from the numbers below! We recovered in time and survived! Friends, you should also be alert, many such SMS are coming!

Whenever PAN / Address / KYC update messages will come from your bank, they will not come from the number but will be written on them as HDFC, ICICI, SBI etc (i.e. your bank’s name), not any number! Never click on the link mentioned in such message!

40 bank account holders cheated in Mumbai

Besides this, a case of cyber fraud has come to light with 40 bank account holders in Mumbai city just a few days ago. It has been said in a media report that a message came on the mobile phones of these people.

A link was given in this message in the name of updating account KYC and PAN card details. It has been told that people’s bank accounts got cleared as soon as they clicked on this link.

Vicious people withdraw money from TV actress’s account

A TV actress Shweta Menon is also included in the 40 people with whom cyber fraud took place in Mumbai. It has been told in the media report that a similar message came to Shweta Menon. When he clicked on the link, details of name, address, mobile number and PAN card etc. were sought in it.

When he filled these details, he got a call from a woman. After receiving the call, he asked for the OTP received on the mobile, after which more than Rs 50,000 was withdrawn from the account. Shweta Menon has complained about the matter to the Mumbai Police.

Online banking fraud Alert: Avoid cyber fraud like this

  • For any information related to bank account, go directly to the bank.
  • No bank asks for personal information related to your account. Also, it is said that do not tell any bank related password to the bank representative.
  • Read the message on the mobile carefully, because the language of the vicious message is written in such a way that people understand it as the message of the bank and get confused.
  • Do not share any OTP with any person posing as a bank representative.
  • Take the customer care number by visiting the bank. Feed it in your mobile phone. Do not search the number from google.
  • Many times messages of vicious people come on social media messengers by becoming acquaintances. In such a situation, know the matter by calling that acquaintance directly.
  • Do not give your card to any unknown person at any ATM booth. This may lead to cloning of your card.
