New Delhi: For the purpose of exporting goods like meat, milk, and infant meals to India, the food regulatory agency FSSAI has made it necessary for foreign food manufacturing facilities to register with it.
The start date for this is February 1, 2023.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced in an order on Monday that it had been decided to make registrations of foreign food production facilities, which come under five food categories, who are intended to export these products, mandatory.
These include infant food, nutraceuticals, egg powder, and meat and meat products, including chicken, fish, and their products.
The FSSAI has asked the names of current manufacturers and those who aspire to export certain food products to India from all competent authorities of exporting nations.
The FSSAI will register these facilities on its webpage based on the data they give.
