In the month of November, banks across various regions of the country are set to observe a total of 15 non-working days. These include the usual 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays, along with 9 additional days due to various festivals and occasions.
As per the Reserve Bank of India’s schedule, there are a total of nine holidays that are either related to festivals or are gazetted. It’s worth noting that some of these bank holidays have regional significance, meaning they may vary from state to state and from one bank to another within that specific region. The Reserve Bank of India classifies bank holidays in India into three categories, following RBI guidelines: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
