It is quite an interesting journey of three IITians who decided not to pursue engineering but to sell eggs. Their innovation and commitment to quality products have turned their fortunes into a business worth over Rs 100 crore. These techies are not only business partners but also friends and strategic thinkers who collaborated to transform their business into a successful venture. Meet the three friends-Abhishek Negi, Uttam Kumar, and Aditya Singh, all alumni of IIT Kharagpur, who are operating their business from Gurugram and have since expanded to other cities as well.
While talking to a news outlet, Abhishek Negi mentioned that he loves eating eggs daily and that this passion motivated him to start a business in the egg industry. He also pointed out that India has the largest market for eggs and that they aim to supply eggs to metro cities, as there is no branded company currently meeting the needs of people in these cities.
They launched ‘Eggoz’ in 2020. Before launching their brand, thetrio did poultry farming in Bihar for three years. Negi claimed that they are offering eggs of hens-fed herbal feed to keep the protein maintained for their consumers. They sell 4 lakh eggs daily to 3000 retailers. The company offered orange yolk, citing it as more nutritional rather than yellow.
The founders of Eggoz faced financial challenges on their journey as well. Negi mentioned that their bank balance had almost reached zero during their struggling days. However, their strategy eventually paid off, and today, they have turned their business into a Rs 100 crore venture in just three years.
Well, the company primarily works in Delhi-NCR and four other cities which are Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Indore. The company also has presence in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
