Silver Jewellery Must Be Hallmarked

Hallmarking will be mandatory for silver jewellery, like gold, starting in September. The move aims to ensure purity in the silver market. This change will affect those who prefer to invest in silver instead of gold.

Changes In Some SBI Credit Cards

From September 1, 2025, the State Bank of India (SBI) will revise its rules for millions of credit cardholders. Reward points will no longer be given on transactions related to selected merchants, digital gaming, and government websites. Additionally, SBI can impose a penalty of 2 percent in case of auto debit failure.

Changes In LPG Gas Cylinder Prices

The prices of domestic LPG gas cylinders may change from September 1, 2025. While a price increase may affect the household budget, a price cut will offer some relief. LPG prices remained stable last month; however, they are expected to change next month.

Cut In Fixed Deposit Rates

A fixed deposit (FD) rate cut is possible in September. Several banks are reviewing their FD rates. Currently, most banks in the market are offering interest rates of 6.5 percent and 7.5 percent on fixed deposits. Many speculate that interest rates on FDs may be reduced. This means that investors who are planning to invest their money in FDs can avail the benefits soon.

New Rules On ATM Use

Several banks across the country are set to implement new rules regarding the use of ATMs. Customers who withdraw money from ATMs beyond the prescribed monthly limit may face higher transaction fees.
