Aadhar Card-PAN card linking: It’s a high time for those who still don’t link their Aadhar card to Pan card. The deadline for linking Aadhaar card to PAN card is approaching fast. The income tax department has already cleared that the deadline for linking these two documents is March 31, 2023. These two documents are required for all financial transactions. The government has made the use of Aadhaar cards in conjunction with PAN cards mandatory. Did you know that Aadhaar-PAN linking can be accomplished in a few simple steps? You can even include a message requesting Aadhaar-PAN linking. Here’s how to go about it.

If you do not link your Aadhaar cards to your PAN cards, your PAN will be deactivated, according to CBDT. So you’ve got until March 31st. PAN will no longer work for you as of April 1, 2023.

You can link your PAN card to your Aadhaar card in two ways. The e-filing portal https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in is one option. SMS is another option. Here’s how to go about it.

Fill in the blanks with text in UIDPAN format. Text this to 56161 or 567678. If your Aadhaar number is XXXXXXXXXX1487 and your PAN number is ABCDE1234X, the text message will read: UIDPAN XXXXXXXX1487 ABCDE1234X. Please send this to 56161 or 567678.

The other option is to access your account at https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/. Sign up on your website. Your user id will be PAN. Enter your password.

A new window will appear. This window will ask you to link your Aadhaar card to your PAN.

If you can’t find it, go to the Menu bar and then to Profile Settings. Select the Aadhaar Link option.

Check the Aadhaar and PAN details. Click the link button. You will be prompted that your Aadhaar card has been linked to your PAN.
