To exchange your Rs 2,000 notes, you should visit your nearest bank branch. There is a maximum limit set by the RBI for exchanging Rs 2,000 notes, which is Rs 20,000 at a time. This means you can exchange a maximum of 10 notes of Rs 2,000 in a single transaction. To make the exchange within the September timeframe, it’s essential to keep track of the list of bank holidays.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s list of bank holidays, September will have 16 bank holidays nationwide, including Sundays, second Saturdays, and fourth Saturdays. Therefore, you will have only 14 working days in September to exchange your Rs 2,000 notes.
