New Delhi: You may remember that during his Independence Day speech on August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged farmers to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilisers. He appealed to the farmers to adopt natural farming practices.

It may be noted that farmers have been largely dependent on fertilizers such as Urea, Diammonium Phosphate (DAP), and Murate of Potash (MOP) to increase their yields.
