Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, addressed ‘Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025’ in Kochi today, February 21. During his address, he said that Kerala is the model of development and the state’s disaster management capabilities are admired across India.
He said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, India is advancing towards unparallel economic and infrastructure growth. A developed India requires strong regional economies, and Kerala is a prime example of how strategic investments can fuel progress.”
Karan said, “Adani Group has already invested Rs 5,000 crores in Vizhinjam port, and we are committing an additional investment of Rs 20,000 crores.” He high-lightened Adani Group’s vision to make Vizhinjam port, the largest transhipment port of the region. Karan also laid down the plan to expand Trivandrum International Airport with an investment of Rs 5,500 crores.
Karan said, “We will also be setting up a logistics and e-commerce hub in Cochin and also increase our cement capacities in Cochin. In total, Adani Group will invest Rs 30,000 crores in Kerala in next 5 years.”
Moreover, the event was attended by Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary and other dignitaries.
