JioHotstar recently set a record during the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 by being watched more than 540 crore times. Viewers watched the Champions Trophy for a total of almost 11,000 crore minutes. Jio Hotstar’s Digital CEO, Kiran Mani, shared on LinkedIn, “What an amazing journey the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has been! It was watched over 540 crore times, for 11,000 crore minutes, and at one point, 6.12 crore people were watching at the same time. These numbers show the huge scale, passion, and growth of digital streaming in India.

How Many People Watched The Final Match

The final match of the Champions Trophy was watched 124.2 crore times on JioHotstar. In this match, India beat New Zealand to win the Champions Trophy for the third time. The match also set a new record with 6.12 crore viewers, showing how online platforms are taking over live sports streaming. Before this, Disney Hotstar held the record with 5.9 crore viewers during the 2023 Cricket World Cup final.

Ownership Breakdown Of JioStar

Mukesh Ambani and his company own the majority of JioStar. According to the data, Reliance Industries holds 63.16% of JioStar, with 16.34% directly and 46.82% through Viacom18. Disney owns 36.84% in this joint venture. By merging assets from Viacom18 and Star India, JioHotstar has become one of the biggest TV and digital streaming platforms in India.
