Reliance Jio 5G: Reliance Jio, a major telecom company, announced on Friday that it is now the first and only operator in Delhi-NCR to offer “True-5G” services.

Jio, a Jio Platforms Ltd. subsidiary, said that it is quickly rolling out its advanced 5G network to cover the majority of the National Capital Region, including all key locations including hospitals, universities, government buildings, malls, markets, and other places with heavy pedestrian traffic.

“Covering majority of the national capital and NCR is a matter of pride for us. Jio is expanding its True 5G reach at a rapid pace and has already rolled out a large portion of the planned True-5G network in this area,” a Jio spokesperson said in a statement.

“It is the only operator to be present across the entire Delhi-NCR region with True-5G services,” the spokesperson said, adding that this “transformational” technology can bring exponential benefit to every citizen.

Jio built its 5G network using independent technology, which is not dependent on its current 4G network.

Reliance Jio stated earlier this week that the majority of Kolkata will be covered by its 5G services by December of this year, and that the project will be finished by June 2023. The corporation will soon begin offering its high-speed Internet services in Siliguri, the second city in West Bengal where it will do so.

Airtel had previously announced the opening of its 5G services in Siliguri and Kolkata. In October, these two large telecom companies debuted their 5G services.

A few 5G-capable handsets initially did not support their network. Manufacturers of smartphones are currently releasing software updates to support the 5G services.
