IRCTC Website, App Down: IRCTC, India’s railway ticketing platform, experienced a major outage on Friday just before Diwali during the Tatkal booking rush. Many users could not book train tickets online as both the website and mobile app were not working, reports said.
The issue came at a crucial time, as many people were trying to book tickets through the Tatkal or immediate quota services. Reports said the systems went down just as heavy traffic for these urgent bookings started.
IRCTC Website, App Down – What Went Wrong?
IRCTC officials have confirmed that technical issues were the cause of the disruption. They said their technical teams were working on the issues to restore normal service as soon as possible.
The website and app outage caused frustration among the users, who posted screenshots of “site down” or “error” messages on social media. Some users even complained that by the time the website was back up, the tickets for several trains were already sold out.
This isn’t the first time IRCTC has faced problems during busy booking periods. During festivals or when Tatkal bookings open, the platform often slows down or goes offline because of high demand.
