Indian stock market slightly declined on Thursday morning after extending gains for a fourth straight session, following overnight negative sentiment from US markets.

Additionally, analysts said that among the investor community, concerns included the outflow of foreign money, the expanding current account deficit, and the worldwide tightening of monetary policy to combat inflation. At 9.56 am, the Sensex was down 145.01 points or 0.25 percent, trading at 58,962.18 points, while the Nifty was down 43.90 points or 0.25 percent, at 17,468.35 points.

“Even in the face of unfavourable news on the state of the world economy, the market remains strong due in large part to consistent inflows into mutual funds, particularly through the SIP method. Market corrections are unlikely to be severe as long as DIIs are well-funded. The positive Q2 figures, particularly those related to the banking sector, provide the market with fundamental support “the chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services, V K Vijayakumar, said.

Market current status

Today, the BSE saw the beginning of trade for 1,551 different businesses. Out of which about 998 shares opened higher and 473 shares opened lower. 80 firms’ share prices are constant, however. Currently, 16 shares are trading at the 52-week low and 78 shares are trading at the 52-week high. Since morning, 58 shares have experienced lower circuit and 100 shares have experienced upper circuit.

Fluctuating Shares of today

Several firms, including Nestle, Reliance, Asian Paints, HUL, Cipla, UltraTech Cement, and Axis Bank, have seen their shares jump in recent trading.

In contrast, if we examine the firms with declining stock prices, we find that many of them, including IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, ONGC, Hindalco, Coal India, NTPC, Bajaj Auto, and HDFC, are experiencing a drop in their stock prices.

Condition of market in last five days

Wednesday (October 19): The Sensex closed at 59,107 points with a gain of 147 points. While the Nifty climbed 25 points to close at 17,512.

Tuesday (October 18): The Sensex closed at 58,960 with a jump of 549 points, while the Nifty closed at 17,486 points, up about 175 points.

Monday (October 17): The Sensex closed at 58,410 with a gain of 491 points, while the Nifty fell 126 points to close at 17,311 points.

Friday (October 14): The Sensex closed at 57,919 with a gain of 684 points, while the Nifty closed at 17,185 with a gain of 171 points.

Thursday (October 15): The Sensex closed down 390 points at 57,235 points. While the Nifty climbed 109 points to close at 17,014 points.
