Indian Railways Jobs: Indian railways are offering around 2.5 lakh vacancies. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that railway officials should speed up their recruitment process as India will rise in employment generation with the filling of these vacancies.

2,070 vacant seats in Group A and B

There are 2070 vacant seats in Group A and B posts. These figures are till 1 July 2023. The minister informed Parliament in a written reply that as per the notification, a total of 1,28,349 candidates have been shortlisted for Group ‘C’ posts (excluding Level-1) till June 30, 2023. Apart from this, Indian Railways is providing 10% horizontal reservation in Level 1 and 5% reservation in Level 2 to all Agniveers.

Agniveers are being given 5 years’ relaxation in railway

The minister said that Indian Railways is giving a relaxation of five years to the first batch of Agniveers while others are being given a relaxation of three years. Five years’ age relaxation has been provided and subsequent batches will get three years’ relaxation to apply for various posts in Indian Railways.
