Many banks have introduced a new way to withdraw cash using your phone. This system works through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), allowing users to access cash directly via their mobile phones. How to withdraw money from any ATM without a debit card?
Not all banks have introduced this feature yet, but most banks have made it available for their customers. To withdraw cash, customers simply need to visit an ATM and use the mobile payment apps. The service, officially known as Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW), lets customers scan a QR code displayed on the ATM screen and complete the transaction through their UPI app. This is a secure and safe transaction.
Which all Apps should be installed in the phone?
Users can take out cash using mobile payment apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM. So, before visiting the ATM, you have to ensure that you have any of the above apps installed in your phone. Other than this, you should make sure that you have:
- A smartphone with any UPI-enabled app installed
- A bank account linked to your UPI ID
- ATM should support “UPI Cash Withdrawal” or “ICCW”
- Check options such as “UPI Cash Withdrawal” or “Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal” on its screen before entering PIN.
Step-by-Step Process Using Google Pay
- Visit a Supported ATM with “UPI Cash Withdrawal” or “Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal”
- Choose the UPI Cash Withdrawal option
- Type the amount you wish to withdraw or select one from the given options- the ATM will display a QR code valid for 30 seconds
- Open your Google Pay and scan the QR Code
- Select the linked bank account from which you want to withdraw money
- Enter your UPI PIN to confirm the withdrawal
- Follow your screen and do accordingly
- The ATM will dispense the amount after successful verification

- Maximum withdrawal per transaction: Rs. 10,000
- Minimum withdrawal amount: Rs. 100 (in multiples of Rs. 100)
- Daily withdrawal limit: As per your bank’s UPI limit
