New Delhi: Ayushman Card can be easily procured both digitally and at kiosks in hospitals. After the Government of India extended the coverage of its flagship health care scheme the The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) to all senior citizens of age 70 years and above in the country, family members of such senior citizens want to get them covered as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary health expenditure. Eligible elderly people get coverage under this scheme absolutely free of cost. The GoI has claimed that the AB PM-JAY is world’s largest universal health scheme.
How many Ayushman Cards can senior citizens in a particular family download?
In one family, at least two senior citizens can download the Ayushman Cards. They will get up to Rs 5 lakh health coverage upfront during treatment at any empaneled hospital every year. Remember that if there are two senior citizens of age 70 and above, then, both will not get coverage of Rs 5 lakh separately. The coverage limit will be divided between the two.
How to download Ayushman Cards?
Follow the below given steps to initiate Ayushman Card download process:
- Visit the government’s website on https://nha.gov.in/
- Click on ‘AM I’ eligible tab
- A new page will throw open on which you will have to verify your mobile number via OTP
- After you have successfully verified your number, then, you will have to select your state and the scheme name.
- Then, if any of your family member already has account then his name will appear. Click against his name and enter following details A. Aadhaar card number
B. Mobile Number Your Ayushman Card will get downloaded.
Those who don’t want to download digitally, then can get the same at kiosks of empaneled hospitals and also at CSC Centres.
Around 35 lakh Ayushman Cards have been downloaded till date. Over 7.8 crore people have got treated under the scheme.
