New Delhi: There are plentiful motivational and inspiring stories available, which can influence anybody to do what they have always wanted to, or to take that huge decision that might change everything for them forever but some stories leave you astonished.

Such one story is of Bhavesh Chandubhai Bhatia, a blind person running a candle company worth Rs 350 crore. But it’s not all, the company is empowering specially-abled persons as it has employed over 9000 visually impaired people.

Beginning with cart

Bhavesh developed a condition at the age of 23 known as retina muscular deterioration, due to which he lost his vision. Bhavesh has completed an MA program but despite his degree, he was unable to find any employment opportunities.

He was close to his mother and after her demise due to cancer, Bhavesh was left heartbroken. To overcome the suffering, Bhavesh joined the National Association for the Blind School to learn how to make candles as he had no other source of income.

Once he had mastered the skill, he rented a cart and started selling candles. After he met Neeta and married her, Bhavesh would make candles and it would be marketed by Neeta.

After such hard struggles of making candles and selling them on the cart,  Bhavesh founded the Sunrise Company in 1994, whose annual revenue is Rs 350 crore. The company gets customers from all corners of the world.

Sunrise Candle, defies all the odds and motivates thousands of young people. Owned by 52-year-old Bhatia, the company produces more than 12,000 different candle designs. Anand Mahindra, who often makes visionary statements on Twitter, recently praised Bhavesh Bhatia and shared his story on Twitter.

Bhavesh’s story tells us that when times are tough, we should not let off our grip on hope and should embrace the challenges.
