Holi 2025 Bank Holidays: Where And When Banks Will Be Closed—Check Full List

In 2025, banks in India will observe a series of holidays around the Holi festival, resulting in a four-day closure from March 13 to March 16.

The Holika Dahan will be observed on March 13, while people will play colours on March 14. Since Holi is one of the most prominent festivals in the country, many states order bank closures for the celebration.

However, many banks shall be operational as normal across the country. We want to inform you on where the banks will remain shut and where banks will remain operational on account of Holi.

Holidays Will Be Given In These Places On March 13 And 14

According to the bank holiday calendar of the RBI, Holika Dahan and Attukal Pongala festival will be celebrated on Thursday, 13 March in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Kerala.

On Friday, Holi will be celebrated as Dhulandi all over India on March 14. On this occasion, banks will remain closed in every part of the country except Karnataka, Odisha, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Kerala, and Nagaland. There will be a holiday on 15 March in these places. There are some states having celebrations on Holi on March 15.

Therefore, the banks will be closed on 15 March, Saturday. The states where banks will remain closed include Tripura, Odisha, Manipur, and Bihar. However, in all other parts of the country, the banks will operate on March 15, being the third Saturday of the month. All banks in the country shall remain closed on March 16 (Sunday)

There Will Be Holidays On The Following Dates After The 16th

1. Bihar Day, on 22 March. There will be no work in banks in Bihar on this day.

2. On the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, on 27 March, banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir.

3. On the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, on 28 March, banks will also remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir.

4. On the occasion of Ramzan-Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr) on 31 March, banks will be closed across the country except in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh.

5. Also, as 22 March will be the fourth Saturday, and 23 and 30 March will be Sundays, therefore, banks across the country will be closed on these dates.

    The holidays are according to the states and let us tell you that the list of holidays for banks is not the same in all the states. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) the list of holidays for all states is different.
