New Delhi: The government introduced new policy revisions for satellite communications services on Wednesday in an effort to simplify processes and streamline clearances to hasten the implementation of Satcom throughout the nation, particularly in rural areas.
In order to hasten the launch of 5G, telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw urged the industry to deploy more towers.
According to him, the current rate of tower deployment needs to be increased from 2,500 to 10,000 per week.
The minister said, “The government has done its part in bringing about reforms, and it is now up to the industry to demonstrate its commitment.”
