New Delhi: The government has extended the due date for filing GST returns for the month of September by one day, to October 21, the CBIC reported on Friday.
The GST system was having technical difficulties on Thursday, the deadline for filing monthly GST reports for some taxpayers.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) then declared that a deadline extension was being thought about.

“The GST Implementation Committee of GST Council has approved extension of the due date of filing GSTR-3B return for the month of September 2022, for the monthly filers, from 20th October, 2022 to 21st October 2022,” the CBIC tweeted on Friday.
Taxpayers in various states make monthly returns and tax payments using form GSTR-3B in a staggered fashion between the 20th, 22nd, and 24th of each month.
The backbone of the Goods and Services Tax’s technology is provided by GST Network (GSTN) (GST). GSTN’s service provider is Infosys.
