october 2025 Salary: The Bihar government has said that all state employees and pensioners across all the state departments will get their October 2025 salaries early. This will start from October 21. As the assembly elections are approaching in the state, the government has also obtained approval from the Election Commission. The decision to release October salaries early is due to Chhath Puja and other post-Diwali celebrations, which are widely observed across the state.
What Bihar Finance Ministry Said
The Finance Department of the Bihar government has issued instructions on this. In the light of Diwali, Chhath festival, and the 2025 Assembly elections, all state government employees and pensioners will be paid their salaries for October 2025 in advance, effective October 21st. The Election Commission has agreed to this, provided the provisions of the Code of Conduct are fully followed and no political advantage is taken.
According to Officials, all departments have been instructed to ensure the advance payments are processed without delay, with all technical and administrative arrangements in place.
Election Commission of India – Statement
As per the Election Commission, the salary advances are permissible as long as they do not confer any political advantage and fully comply with the code of conduct. “No action that could influence the electoral process will be permitted,” a Commission statement said on the early release of the salaries.
Bihar – Directorate of Secondary Education
The Directorate of Secondary Education has directed district officials to upload data on all teachers and non-teaching staff in secondary and higher secondary schools as soon as possible to accelerate the October salary payment. The information is to be submitted via a Google Sheets link or QR code.
Director Sajjan R. stated that the data collection would allow the Education Department to maintain accurate records on staffing, workload, and resource allocation. Experts noted that the initiative could also improve transparency and efficiency in the management of school employees.
