The Noida International Airport and Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) partnered to open two CNG stations on the route of Jewar International Airport, which are all set to be operational in the next few months. The agreement aims to supply CNG for airports. IGL will set up two gas stations. The IGL will establish one gas station on the west side of the airport, and the other will be set up on the air side.
Along with this, the IGL will also establish a city gas distribution network. It would be easier to supply the CNG to the gas stations. The IGL will install pipelines to ensure Piped Natural Gas (PNG) can be facilitated to the users. The PNG pipeline facility would be used for kitchens and restaurants at the airport.
Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, said the agreement with IGL is a step forward in building a world-class airport, and they are providing clean fuel by adding CNG facilities to the users.
In the first phase of NIA, there would be a single runway and terminal. Each year, over 1.2 crore passengers can travel to different destinations from the airport. The Yamuna International Airport Private Limited is constructing the airport, which is a subsidiary company of Zurich International Airport AG.
