The central government is coming up with EPFO 3.0 very soon, which will make services easier for all employees across the nation. The new digital platform of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will provide seamless access for employees to avail themselves of provident fund–related services.
Over eight crore employees will be able to access services such as online claims, instant withdrawals, and easy KYC updates. The services will be more user-friendly on mobile phones and digital platforms.

EPFO 3.0 is being developed with the help of leading IT companies such as Wipro, Infosys, and TCS. Initially, the services were expected to launch in June 2025, but the rollout was later deferred due to technical reasons.
Key Services Under EPFO 3.0
Cash Withdrawal Through ATMs
EPFO members will be able to withdraw cash directly from ATMs. To avail of the service, members must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link their Aadhaar with their bank account. This service will benefit members during emergency needs.
UPI-Based Withdrawal
EPFO 3.0 also proposes to provide withdrawals via UPI, aiming to reduce the processing time for applications.
Online Claim and Correction
Without visiting EPFO offices, members will be able to make claims online and also carry out necessary corrections. Members can easily track the status of their claims digitally.
Simplified Death Claims
In case of a member’s death, the process has been simplified for the nominated person, who will be able to withdraw PF without delays. For minors, a guardian certificate will not be mandatory, enabling families to receive financial assistance instantly.
Better Digital Experience
EPFO members will enjoy a better digital experience, with the new platform providing easy access through mobile phones. The primary objective of EPFO 3.0 is to offer fast and hassle-free services to all members.
