On April 15, Ghazal Alagh, co-founder of Mamaearth, shared tips on making the “hiring game top-notch” with her followers on a microblogging site. She also posted a photo from her office, showing her engaged in a meeting with her colleagues.

She continued, “Here’s what I do to improve my hiring process: I cultivate the habit of asking myself, ‘In what three areas is this person better than me?’ This approach enables me to prioritize hiring individuals whom I highly value and envision building a long-term relationship with.”

Earlier, Ms. Alagh used the microblogging site to urge businesses to reconsider their approach to innovation for achieving market leadership. In her post, Ms. Alagh emphasized the importance of embracing a “First Principles thinking” approach instead of depending on industry assumptions. She wrote, “If you aim to lead the market in your industry, STOP relying on industry assumptions. Instead, adopt the First Principles thinking approach.”

Ms. Alagh also presented six tips on how to implement the “First Principles thinking approach.” She shared, “Clarify your thinking and articulate the origin of your ideas. Challenge assumptions. Seek evidence. Explore alternative perspectives. Evaluate consequences and implications. Question the original questions.”
