NSE co-location case : Former MD and CEO of NSE Chitra Ramakrishna gets bail in Phone tapping case. Delhi high court gives her bail. Enforcement Directorate had arrested Ramakrishna in NSE Co-location case on 14th July last year.
She is mastermind behind Conspiracy – ED
During The hearing, ED opposed her bail plea in the phone tapping case. ED said she was the mastermind of the conspiracy. According to information, the incident of phone tapping dates back to 2009 to 2017, when former NSE CEO Ravi Narayan, Ramakrishna, Executive Vice President Ravi Varanasi and Head (Complex) Mahesh Haldipur and others conspired to defraud NSE and its employees. According to Ed ISEC Services Pvt Ltd had illegally intercepted phone calls of employees of NSE.
Allegation are baseless argued Ramakrishna
Arguing to Seek bail , Ramakrishna claimed that no offence was made out against her and the allegations also did not come under the the Money Laundering Act. Ramakrishna was appointed as Joint MD NSE in 2009 and held the post till March 31, 2013. She was promoted as MD & CEO on April 1, 2013. Her tenure at NSE ended in December 2016.
