By the 2025-26 tenure the food processing industry is expected get double in size. As per media reports, hiring for freshers has increased to 32% in the second half of year 2024. Which was 27% during last year.
This hiring expansion is directly proportional to the growth of the food processing industry. The growth of which estimated from 263 billion dollar in 2019-20 to 535 billion dollar by 2025-26.
As per the reports, following key products get highlighted which includes, frozen meat, snacks, dairy and RTE foods. These products are generating the employment opportunities.
Speaking to ANI, Founder and CEO, TeamLease Edtech, Shantanu Rooj said that, “The rise in demand for fresh talent in FMCG can clearly be attributed to deeper expansion in rural and semi-urban markets, fueled by the rapid growth of India’s food processing industry.”
According to the report the major focus of FMCG companies are on hiring or on-boarding the freshers with the expertise in market. The expertise criteria includes, market insight, retail distribution and regional consumer behavior. The expertise will support the expansion of market.
As per the reports the survey covered the 526 large, medium and small companies, which is across the 18 industries.
Some jobs are high on demand in different cities. In Bengaluru 41% are in zone to hire food engineers. In Delhi 39 percent of them are looking for the logistics coordinators. While in Bengaluru 34% are seeking management trainee.
