ITR filing: The new financial year of 2023 -2024 is started in India. Tax deducted at sources (TDS) on salary is a tax that the company withholds while paying the salary to employees. It is the time for salaried people to file their income tax returns(ITR). People need Form 16 for filing ITR. it provides a detailed account of the employees’ taxable income. But few people may not get the form 16 if their salary does not fall under taxable income.

This is to inform you that form 16 is not required every time while filing the ITR. it can be filed without form 16.

Form is considered as the important document for filing income tax returns because it provides entire income details like deduction details, TDS information and investments.

people who do not have form 16 can access their information regarding the salary or income by form 26AS. It gives information about the advance tax payments, high-value transactions, and other related details. Individuals can also file their ITR by using their salary slip if Form 16 is missing. Here are the documents information that persons need while filing income tax returns without Form 16.

The documents are: HRA slips, proof of investment under sections 80C and 80D of the income tax Act, proof of home loan payments.

Form 26 AS downloading

Persons who want to file income tax but do not receive a taxable salary can visit Income tax website and click on the e-file portal. They can get all information regarding their taxable salary.

The deadline for submitting your income tax return is July 31st 2023.
