Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared his views over the coming years as he predicted what changes are likely to occur after the swift advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics.
‘Artificial Intelligence will bring a complete transformation’
While speaking in an exclusive interview with Zerodha’s co-founder , Nikhil Kamath, Musk said that Artificial Intelligence and Robotics will bring a complete transformation in human lives.
The Tesla CEO made the biggest statement, saying that people will choose whether to work or not for their living in less than 20 years because of rapid advancements of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
‘Working will be optional’
Musk stated, “My prediction is, in less than 20 years, working will be optional, working at all will be optional, like a hobby pretty much.”
He acknowledged that some may doubt this prediction, noting that his statement may be played back after two decades to judge its accuracy. Still, he expressed confidence that the speed at which Al is improving will ultimately make work a matter of personal interest rather than economic survival.
The discussion came after Kamath pointed out that parts of the West are already moving from six-day workweeks to five, four, and even three days.
He also predicted that due to the abundance of AI and Robotics, anyone can get the services or goods as per the individual’s choice. “If you can think of it, you can have it,” he stated.
‘Generation of energy will be the true currency’
Musk asserted that physics-based currencies like generation of energy will be the true currency.
The Tesla CEO said that significant deflation will take place as the output of goods and services will go up and it would outpace in increase of money supply.
