EId-Ul-Fitr Bank Holiday 2025: In a crucial step to ensure seamless time-sensitive financial transactions, the Reserve Bank of India has canceled the Eid holiday for all agency banks involved in govt-related banking operations. This move comes in light of facilitating tax collection, government receipts & payments, and proceeding with year-end financial settlements without disruption. Today, March 31, was originally declared a public holiday for banks across multiple states, except Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram, due to Eid.
Apart from banks, other key institutions, such as the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), the tax department, and the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (IRDAI), will remain open today.
