Bengaluru’s iconic Central Tiffin Room(CTR) famous for its crispy Dosa and South Indian foods, has opened its first outlet in Kempegowda International Airport. Located in Airport’s Terminal 2, the new CTR branch will serve South Indian breakfast dishes, catering to passengers seeking authentic local flavors.
The launch has been met with great enthusiasm from Bengaluru residents, many of whom took to social media platform X to share their happiness and express a desire for more regional cuisine options at the airport, which is currently dominated by international food chains.

Prices At Airports

Normally, Prices for items sold at the airport are on the higher side. For instance, a benne masala dosa (butter dosa) costs Rs 90 at CTR’s Malleshwaram outlet but is priced at Rs 285 at the airport. Acoording to a money control report, BIAL sources said that another popular joint Rameshwaram Cafe will open at Terminal 1 (post-security) by March. Apart from CTR, Hatti Kappi in the T2 lounge, Ooru Canteen at T1 departures, and Maiyas at T2 departures.

CTR

CTR, also known as Sri Sagar Hotel in Malleswaram, is a legendary Bengaluru eatery established in 1920. Renowned for its buttery, crispy benne masala dosa, this iconic spot is a favorite among both locals and celebrities alike. This marks CTR’s first expansion beyond its original Malleswaram unit, now serving both international and select domestic flyers from Terminal 2.

Rameshwaram Cafe

Rameshwaram Cafe is set to open at Bengaluru Airport by March 2025, much to the delight of food lovers. Founded in 2021, the cafe quickly earned a loyal following, especially among travelers, for its generous use of ghee, a rich and flavorful clarified butter. Rameshwaram Café, which will open in Terminal 1 to serve domestic travelers. Named after the birthplace of former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam, Rameshwaram Cafe has become a must-visit spot for anyone seeking authentic, flavorful delicacies.

According to BIAL officials, it is dedicated to enriching the cultural vibe at Kempegowda International Airport by celebrating local traditions. As part of this effort, the airport will spotlight the Kannada language on its digital displays and keep travelers informed about events through digital platforms.

Indira Canteens

In March 2024, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded to the long-standing demand of cab drivers for affordable meal options by inaugurating two Indira Canteens near Bengaluru Airport, including one conveniently located at the P7 parking area. These canteens serve wholesome meals at incredibly low prices, offering breakfast for just ₹5 and lunch or dinner for ₹10, ensuring that even those on a tight budget can enjoy a hot and satisfying meal.
