Delhi Budget 2025: Free Laptops For Students To Cleaning Yamuna – Here Are The Key Takeaways

The BJP government has allocated Rs 5,100 crore for Mahila Samridhi yojana, Rs 2,144 crore for Ayushman Bharat and Rs 1,000 crore for improving road connectivity in Delhi-NCR.

Delhi Budget 2025: The Budget Session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly began on March 24, 2025, marking a key milestone for the newly elected BJP government. Chief minister Rekha Gupta, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented her maiden budget on Tuesday, March 25. Gupta presented the Budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for 2025-26, up by 31.56% from the previous Budget.

The Budget focused on 10 key areas, including: infrastructure development, roads, water, electricity. Notably, in 2024, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government presented the Budget of worth Rs 76,000 crore, which was later raised to Rs 77,000 crore.

Mahila Samruddhi Scheme And Pregnant Ladies Scheme: The Delhi government allocated Rs 5,100 crore for Mahila Samruddhi Scheme, and Rs 210 crore for pregnant ladies scheme.

CCTV Cameras: The Delhi government has promised to install 50,000 additional CCTV in the National Capital for the safety of women.

Infrastructure: The Delhi government allocated Rs 1000 crore for road development, Rs 696 crores to DUSIB for basic facilities in slums and JJ colonies, Rs 3,800 crore for flyovers, and Rs 1,400 crores for CM road development fund.

Free Laptops For Students: Delhi government will provide free laptops to 1,200 students passing class X. Moreover, the government allocated Rs 750 crore for it in FY26 Budget.

International Film Festival: Delhi government to host ‘International Film Festival’. Likewise, the government allocated Rs 30 crore for it.

Allowance To Pregnant Women: The Delhi government allocated Rs 210 crore for giving nutrients kits. Furthermore, the government announced the allowance of Rs 21,000 to expecting mothers.

Health Sector: the Delhi government also allocated Rs 6,874 crore for the health sector.

Pollution Control: The Delhi government sets aside Rs 300 crore to curb pollution in the city. Also, Rs 506 crore allocated for the environment and forest department.

Government To Discontinue ‘Pink pass’: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that women will have a common pass valid for free commute across the national capital. Now, the pink passes under which pink tickets were issued to women in buses will be stopped to prevent corruption. Instead, the BJP government will issue a common bus pass to women through which they can travel for free in buses.

Transport Sector: The Delhi government allocated Rs 12,952 crore for the transport sector in the national capital.

Cow Shelters: The Delhi government allocates Rs 40 crore to set up modern cow shelters to be opened in Delhi’s Ghummanhera area.

Municipal Corporation Of Delhi: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta allocates Rs 6,897 crore for Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
