Budget Session 2023: The budget session of the Parliament will start from Tuesday. President Draupadi Murmu’s customary address will mark the beginning of the budget session. President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint sitting of both the Houses in the Central Hall of Parliament. The proceedings of the House will begin after the President’s address. In which tribute will be given to the late leaders, including Sharad Yadav and Santosh Singh Chowdhary. After this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in the House. The economic survey will show the roadmap for development and employment in upcoming budget. And tomorrow the Union Budget for 2023-24 will be presented.

This is the last full budget of the second term of the Modi government before the general election of 2024. Therefore, before that the government will present only an interim budget in 2024. While the full budget will be presented after the elections. So, it is expected that the central government would try to please all sections through the budget by keeping eye on general election.
The new Parliament House is almost ready. (budget session 2023)However, the meetings of this session will be held in the old Parliament House. But it is said that the next meeting of the Parliament may be held in the new building.

The budget session of Parliament will start from January 31 at 11 am and continue till April 6. The first phase of the budget session will run from January 31 to February 13. The second session will run from March 13 to April 6. There will be a total of 27 sittings during this entire session of about 66 days. During this, there will be a holiday of about one month in between. About 36 bills are likely to be introduced by the government in the budget session of Parliament.
According to information, currently 26 bills are pending for passage in Rajya Sabha and 9 bills in Lok Sabha. Out of 26 Bills pending in Rajya Sabha, 3 Bills have already been passed by Lok Sabha. These include the Inter-State River Water Disputes (Amendment) Bill 2019, the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Third Amendment) Bill 2022 and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2022.
