Budget 2025: The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her 8th Budget and the Modi government’s second Budget of the third term of the NDA government. With this, Sitharaman will become the country’s first Finance Minister to present the Union Budget for the 8th consecutive time. The upcoming budget may prioritize significant capital spending, mainly on road infrastructure and Indian Railways.
Let’s take a look at FM Sitharaman’s budget day attire over the years.

During Union Budget 2024-25, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was dressed in a white silk saree with a purple and gold border.

In the interim budget ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Sitharaman wore a blue tussar silk saree adorned with intricate kantha handiwork. Tussar silk is known for its unique texture and golden sheen.

In Union Budget 2023, FM Sitharaman wore a red and black temple border saree with Kasuti threadwork.

On the Budget Day of 2022, she wore a rust brown Bomkai saree with off-white border detailing.

In 2021, Sitharaman presented the Budget dressed in a red and off-white silk Pochampally saree, featuring intricate ikat patterns and a green border. Notably, Pochampally ikat is a traditional textile art form from Telangana.

In 2020, FM presented the country’s Budget wearing a vibrant yellow-gold silk saree.

2019 was the first Budget presentation by FM Sitharaman. On this occassion, she wore a simple pink Mangalgiri saree with a gold border.
