Budget 2023 expected changes: Exemption from Income Tax

The income tax exemption will increase disposable income and encourage expenditure, which will aid in the economy’s COVID epidemic recovery. According to the existing tax bracket, income up to Rs 2.5 lakh is exempt from paying any taxes, while income between Rs 2.5 and Rs 5 lakh is subject to a 5% reduction. However, the exemption appears to be minimal when living expenses and inflation rise. The budget’s principal goal at this time is to raise the tax exemption threshold to Rs 5 lakh.

Budget 2023 expected changes: Credit At A Low Cost For SMEs

A low-cost financing programme for medium-sized and small firms is anticipated from the Finance Ministry. MSMEs, which were among the worst affected by the COVID outbreak, also anticipate a big boost from the government.

Relaxation of Taxes for Home Loan

Currently, borrowers on house loans for self-occupied properties are only eligible for an exemption of up to Rs 2 lakh every fiscal year. In order to provide relief to taxpayers, the government may declare an increase of this cap by up to Rs 1 lakh due to the recent spike in inflation and skyrocketing real estate prices.
