Tata Group’s venture, Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), has acquired a 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited (PTI). The Noel-Tata-led company stated that it would ensure a smooth team integration to maintain the continuity of operations. In the future, the company plans to focus on rebranding and structuring its new ownership, alongside advancing its business to deliver outstanding electronic products. The company aims to expand its operations by leveraging innovation in electronics manufacturing, with the help of AI, digital tools, and the latest technologies.

According to a report published in ET, the company’s CEO and MD, Ravindra Thakur, stated that the acquisition would help the company grow by enhancing its manufacturing strategy and increasing the use of AI, digital tools, and the latest technologies.

The Tata Group’s acquisition of Pegatron is less than a year as the company had taken over Wistron’s India operations in Karnataka’s Narsapura in November 2023.

Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran said the company is aiming to open nine new factories in the next two years and it will invest 418 billion in electronics and semiconductors.
