Bank Holidays: December 2022 is just four days away, and banks across India will be closed for up to 14 days in December. Sundays, as well as the second and fourth Saturdays, are included. Apart from the weekly holidays, banks will be closed in some states owing to other holidays.
The RBI has classified holidays into three categories for the uninitiated: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and bank account closures. The following list of holidays has been given by the RBI.
It is crucial to remember that many bank holidays differ from one state to the next and from one bank to the next. In December, there are 14 bank holidays. Six are weekend holidays, and the remaining eight are according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar list.
