Bank holiday for Chhath Puja 2025
Bank holiday today: According to RBI holiday list. Banks in Patna and Ranchi will be closed today, October 28, for Chhath Puja. Apart from this, the four-day festival is predominantly celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengal. This year, Chhath Puja is being observed from October 25 to October 28. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bank holiday calendar, banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal on account of the last day of Chath Puja.
What about Digital Banking Services?
Bank holiday today: Even though banks will close their in-branch services, they will keep important digital banking services like ATMs, UPI, internet banking, and mobile apps running. Customers should complete any in-person banking before the holiday to avoid problems.
Chhath Puja 2025
Chhath Puja is a four-day festival celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Nepal. It is dedicated to thanking nature, with devotees worshipping the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, the goddess of birth and creation. Dovotees observe a stringent 36-hour fast during Chhath Puja seeking well-being, prosperity and longevity for their children and family members.
