Banks in several parts of India will remain closed for four days in the coming week owing to regional festivals and observances. The holidays are listed under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) official state-wise holiday calendar for the financial year 2025–26.
Are Banks Closed Today?
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official holiday calendar, banks will remain open today. However, banks will remain closed tomorrow, November 5, and will observe holidays on November 6, 7, 8, and 9 on account of different festivals and the weekly holiday.
What About Digital Services?
Even when banks close their in-branch services, their digital banking services remain available 24/7. Important digital banking facilities such as ATMs, UPI, internet banking, and mobile apps will continue to operate as usual. If you have any in-person banking work, it is advisable to complete it before the upcoming spell of holidays to avoid inconvenience.
When Are Banks Generally Closed?
Banks are generally closed on weekends, as well as on national, regional, and religious festivals. These holiday dates may vary from state to state, as each state has its own bank holiday calendar. Hence, if you are planning to visit the bank on a particular day, be sure to check your state’s bank holiday list first to avoid any inconvenience.
Apart from the designated holidays, banks remain closed on Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. A detailed state-wise list of bank holidays helps individuals and businesses plan their financial transactions accordingly.
