Amazon announced on Thursday that it would be letting go of more than 18,000 workers due to the uncertain economy.

“We intend to cut little over 18,000 roles between the cutbacks we made in November and the ones we’re sharing today. Jassy threw in By offering packages that include a separation payment, temporary health insurance coverage, and outside job placement assistance, Amazon is attempting to assist those who are impacted.

Additionally, Amazon announced a voluntary reduction offer for a small number of employees in its People, Experience, and Technology (PXT) jobs in November 2022, reducing the number of employees by about 10,000, primarily in the Devices and Books divisions.

“Amazon has already survived unstable and challenging economies, and we will do so going forward.
