New Delhi: Current verified accounts will not be impacted by Twitter’s $8 redesigned blue subscription plan as of now. Both the people seeking Blue Badge and new users who want to be verified must pay this $8 cost.
The $8 monthly paid verification “will not effect current verified accounts at this time,” according to a Twitter FAQ for advertisers, according to The Verge. Users who have already been verified were supposed to pay for the new Blue plan or risk having their Blue Badges removed after 90 days.
The FAQ also read that “large brand advertisers who are already verified will now have an additional ‘Official’ label beneath their name upon Twitter Blue’s relaunch this week”.
After the US midterm elections, Twitter postponed the launch of its eagerly awaited $8 Blue membership service with verification badge. Elon Musk, the new owner, initially demanded that staff members roll out Blue with verification by November 7 or risk being fired.
Less advertisements, a higher priority for searches, the option to publish lengthier videos, and a blue badge are all features of the new Twitter Blue service. Anyone who subscribes to Blue on a monthly basis can now obtain a verified checkmark, raising fundamental questions about how to distinguish genuine Twitter accounts from phoney ones.
According to Musk, the new $8 per month Twitter Blue membership service would be accessible in India in less than a month. Musk added that the Blue subscription service would cost $8 and that people could “trash me all day.”
